The Chicago Crime Commission released an updated book about Chicago gangs this week, which reveals that the Windy City has more gang members than any other U.S. city. According to the new release of the book, the city of Chicago is estimated to have between 68,000 to over 150,000 gang members. This may or may not come as a surprise that social media web sites has become popular with gang members carrying out drug-deals and other illegal activities. The book also has a Chicago gang maps. It features gang territorial boundaries from 2008-2011, and gang territorial boundaries by district and area for 2011. The 320-page book details some web conversations that gang members discuss, drug deals, murders and other gang activity. The book is price for like 29 bucks online.

Graphic Video of Marines Peeing on Dead Bodies Sparks Military Investigation

The United States Marine Corps say that a video posted online this week showing U.S. Marines stationed in Afghanistan urinating on several dead Taliban bodies will by “fully investigated.”
The extremely graphic video, which was posted Wednesday morning, is around 39 seconds, and shows at least 4 male Marines literally peeing on the bodies of 3 dead men dressed in traditional Afghan clothing.

The Marines can be heard laughing and joking, while one Marine says, “Have a great day, buddy!” Another guy jokes, “Golden like a shower!”

"The Avengers"

While the superhero-packed film "The Avengers" has every comic book lover's heart aflutter, a concern lingers on just how the coming blockbuster will rangle a story with so many characters and backstories.
"The Avengers" has the awesome and difficult task of combining Marvel's VIPs -- Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow -- into a single story line. Tough, but movie vet (and clandestine Shakespearean daredevil) Joss Whedon has found a way around this too-many-cooks-spoil-the-pot thing.
“I set out with a very simple problem," Whedon said in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. "There is no reason for these people to be in the same movie. So that’s what my movie has to be about. So much of the movie takes place from Steve Rogers’ (Chris Evans) perspective, since he’s the guy who just woke up and sees this weird ass world. Everyone else has been living in it.”
Clever, very clever! The film also boasts some of Hollywood's biggest names: Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, and Samuel L. Jackson.
"The Avengers" opens in 3D on May 4th.

Clifton Lewis Murder: Two Charged In Shooting That Killed Chicago Cop (VIDEO)

Two Chicago men were charged early Saturday morning in the Dec. 29 shooting death of veteran Chicago police officer Clifton Lewis.
Tyrone Clay, 29, and Edgardo Colon, 34, were charged with murder while in commission of an armed robbery and first-degree murder of a peace officer, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Lewis, 41, was off-duty and working security at M&M Quick Foods on Chicago's West Side when he was shot while attempting to thwart a robbery. He had worked for eight years in the city's 15th District.
He reportedly took the side job to help pay for an upcoming wedding -- he had proposed to his longtime girlfriend on Christmas Day. His family is devastated.
Thousands of police officers from throughout the state joined Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Gov. Pat Quinn and Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy to pay their respects to the slain officer in a funeral service at the United Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday.
